The community of experts on special effects (Visual Effects Society) has announced the winners of its annual awards for achievements in film and television in 2016. Leaders in the number of awards was the film Walt Disney “the jungle Book” and HBO’s “Game of thrones”. The winners of the fifteenth VES Awards in the major categories were:
“The jungle book” – “Best special effects in a photo-realistic feature film”
“Deepwater horizon” – “Best supporting visual effects in a photoreal feature film”
“Kubo. The legend of the samurai” – “the Best special effects in feature-length animated film”
“Doctor strange” (new York city) – “the Best photo-realistic environment in a feature film”
“The jungle book” – “Best virtual cinematography”
“The jungle book” – “the Best composition in photo-realistic feature film”
“Game of thrones” (episode “battle of the bastards”) – “Best special effects in a photo-realistic scene”
“Black sails” (episode “XX”) – “Best supporting visual effects in a photoreal episode”
“Game of thrones” (episode “battle of the bastards” – Meereen) – “the Best environment in the episode”
“Game of thrones” (episode “battle of the bastards” – the taking of Winterfell) – “Best song in a photo-realistic scene”
