New Zealand legalized medical cannabis

В Новой Зеландии легализировали лечебную коноплюPatients provide safe access to marijuana

The law will allow terminally ill patients to immediately begin to smoke marijuana without fear of prosecution, the report said.
The New Zealand government approved a law that allows over time to make medical marijuana available to people suffering from various diseases.

“The law has a special meaning, as another option for people who live with chronic pain,” said health Minister David Clark.

The law will allow terminally ill patients to immediately begin to smoke marijuana without fear of prosecution, the report said.

These measures are preceded by a planned national referendum on use of marijuana for medical purposes.

The new law gives patients much greater access to medical marijuana. However, most people who need it to alleviate the suffering have to wait about a year, until adoption of new rules of licensing and standardization.

The law also permits the production of medical marijuana in New Zealand for both domestic consumption and for foreign markets.
