The political scientist Taras Berezovets showed online photos of a “harsh New year” in the USSR.
In pictures posted on Twitter, dozens of people stand in line for scarce goods.
“New year in the USSR was so severe, that is, in the night of January 1 was only supposed to canned anchovies, right before this was still a fun adventure shopping “look that threw the holiday”. “Threw” means that the trade network brought something in short supply”, – he wrote.
Users are immediately sprinkled with nostalgic comments.
“At that time I was still small. My parents after work ran to stand in queues for sausage, kuryami, meat, butter. All the time spent in queues,” wrote one of them.
