Ukraine wants compensation from Russia over the Kerch bridge.
Ukraine considers Russia’s unilateral action to limit shipping in the Kerch Strait wrongful act and intends to claim compensation.
This was announced by the foreign Ministry of Ukraine.
Russia will limit the navigation through the Kerch Strait in August and September 2017. It violates the jurisdiction of Ukraine over its internal waters, territorial sea, exclusive economic zone and continental shelf in the Black and Azov seas.
Assessment of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the amount of losses of the Ukrainian ports may be half a billion UAH.
The Ukrainian foreign Ministry stressed that all this gives the right to demand from Russia compensation for the damages. The Agency did not specify whether already filed a financial claim.
Russia wants to stop shipping through the Strait of 23 days to establish a support span of the arches of the bridge Kerch. The parameters of the precipitation components, which establishes the Russian Federation, can limit the operation of Berdyansk and Mariupol commercial port.
