Schools will receive the trimesters.
In Ukraine, as always, a new school year 2017-2018 will begin on the Day of knowledge on 1 September and will run until 30 may 2018.
But in 2017 September 1, 2017 falls on a Friday, so the learning process will start from Monday the 4th of September.
In this academic year, students will change the time and duration of break and enter – trimesters.
Trimesters is a relatively new form of organization of educational process, which is little known to Ukrainian children. The period of study is distributed evenly, that is divided into equal parts and intervals between rest and training. Experts believe that such organization of the educational process helps to distribute the load on the students, not causing fatigue even in first grade.
In trimestrali system of education 6 teaching periods, and the same rest periods – holidays. The duration of each trimester 5-6 weeks, the duration of the vacation week, the exception are the new year two-week and three-month summer vacation.

Holidays in the 2017-2018 school year
First trimester. The first autumn holidays 2017 – from 2 to 8 October 2017 (7 days).
The second trimester. The second autumn holiday in 2017 from 17 to 23 November 2017 (7 days).
Third trimester. First 2017-2018 winter holidays from 27 December 2017 8 January 2018 (13 days).
The fourth trimester. Second winter break 2018 – from 21 to 27 February 2018 (7 days).
The fifth trimester. Spring break 2018 – from 10 to 16 April 2018 (7 days).
Sixth trimester. Summer holidays 2018 from 1 June to 31 August 2018.

In addition, the festive holidays in the 2017-2018 school year are:
New year – 1 January;
Christmas – 7 January;
International women’s day – 8 March;
Easter – April 8;
The international workers ‘ day – may 1 and 2;
May 9 – Victory Day;
Trinity – may 27;
The day of Constitution of Ukraine – 28 June;
The independence day of Ukraine – August 24;
The Defender of the Fatherland day – October 14.
