Premium British brand Jaguar is working on the next generation Executive sedan XJ.
The new generation of the Jaguar XJ sedan will be very different in its design from the current-generation models. Such a statement during his interview made the Director of design of Jaguar Ian Callum.
In the spring of 2017, it became known that the bosses of Jaguar Land Rover in doubt about the need to develop a new generation flagship model of the Jaguar XJ. The fact that this sedan can’t boast of great sales, and this, of course, does not suit the leaders of the company JLR.
But now, it seems, the final decision on the fate of the sedan XJL accepted – it will continue to exist in the form of a new generation. Moreover, according to Ian Callum on the design of the new XJL will differ significantly from current-generation models.
When the novelty will appear on sale – it is not yet known. In the words of Callum clearly that will not happen in 2019. Apparently, the premiere of the concept, this new sedan will be held this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the XJ. In our view, the British could release this car in early. The current generation Jaguar XJL went on sale in 2009. It is now the oldest model in its segment. Not surprisingly, she is not very good sales.
XJ is equipped with a 5.0 liter V8 c supercharged with a power of 575 HP and 700 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 300 km/h.
