The tomb is in a field between the villages of Kukavka and tarasivka.
In Vinnytsia region, the researchers found a mass grave of warriors of UNR in a field between the villages and the village Kukavka Mohyliv-Podil’s’kyi rayon. In a large forgotten grave was discovered the remains of 19 people.
According to a local resident who remembered the stories of old-timers about the grave, there are buried the soldiers of the 2nd Volhynian division of the UNR Army, which was mobilized on the eve of the local.
Mobilized got to the red prisoner. In November 1920, the Bolsheviks took them for the village and executed. A few herd boys watched the massacre, and the same evening spoke to local farmers about what they saw.
Subsequently, soldiers were buried in a common grave. A farmer from the village of Kukavka mounted on the grave stone cross and a headstone with the inscription about the tragedy.
As noted by the Director of the company “Share” Svyatoslav Sheremeta, Ukrainian prisoners, the Bolsheviks were run through with swords. The skull was found the remains of the split in half, chopped wounds are visible skeletal bones.
According to Sheremeta, researchers from enterprises ‘Share’ for the first time in his practice found a mass grave of warriors of UNR. Among the artifacts found near the remains discovered buttons belonging to the three armies of the various States. Unfortunately, the identification of victims is impossible. However, on this, the researchers plan to work.
The remains of abandoned graves exhumed and will be kept until the solemn reburial.
