Near Kiev the patients “rehabilitation center” said the police

The relatives of the patients pay 12 thousand UAH.

Several patients “rehabilitation center” in Brovary of Kyiv region has filed unlawful imprisonment. Establishment of check militiamen, press service of the police of Kiev region.

It said that on the specialline “102” asked the representative of the Parliament Commissioner for human rights stating that in Brovary for one of the addresses illegally detained people.

Investigative team of the police found that there is a limited liability company (LLC), which is involved in the alleged treatment of citizens from alcohol and drug dependency.

For a month stay in a “rehabilitation institution” the relatives of the patients pay 12 thousand UAH.

In the center the police found 20 people age from 20 to 81 years. Four of them testified about unlawful imprisonment, police said.

Law enforcement officers will check for the existence of the entrepreneurs of licenses for the provision of services and the conditions in which people live.

On this fact police opened criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 146 (Illegal imprisonment or kidnapping) of the criminal code. The sanction of article provides till five years of imprisonment.

In November 2017, in the Volyn region in one of the houses police found 30 people who are illegally kept under the pretense of rehabilitation and treatment of drug addiction and alcoholism.
