Not far from the temporarily occupied Ukrainian Donetsk, there was a fierce battle between Ukrainian paratroopers and Russian occupation troops.
As reported in the press center of staff ATO, the militants tried to move forward, however, the Ukrainian military repulsed the attack. Thus the invaders were able only partially to take a new position in the “gray area” near the Sands.
The militants first opened fire from small arms, then – from artillery, under cover of which the occupants went on the offensive. Ukrainian paratroopers returned fire with small arms and rocket-propelled grenades.
The staff noted that the militants actively carry out engineering works and equip the positions, and three days ago as a result of enemy mortar shelling three Ukrainian paratroopers were injured.
