NATO will increase its military forces in the Black sea

International organizations will receive assistance from Romania.

NATO announced the creation of a new international division in Romania, which will face Russia on the Eastern borders of the Alliance and to curb the growing presence of Russia in the Black sea.

It is planned that this unit will form a ground, air and naval forces of ten countries, in particular Italy, Canada, Romania and the United States, the report said.

Our goal is peace, not war. We are not threatening Russia, but in the long run we need coalition strategy, we need a dialogue with a strong defense position and counter
– said the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis to the NATO parliamentary Assembly in Bucharest.

However, the exact number of new factions is not yet known. According to officials of NATO, the terrestrial component will comprise a multinational force of a brigade, which usually consists of three to four thousand soldiers, the newspaper notes. In addition to the existing naval patrols of NATO in the Black sea will be held joint raids in the Romanian and Bulgarian ports. Also, the Alliance plans to provide additional training and maneuvers a limited scale.
