NASA will conduct exercises to combat asteroid threat

The asteroid was discovered on March 26.

From 29 April to 3 may, NASA will hold a conference Planetary Defense Conference, where scientists will come up with a plan to save the planet from a collision with a hypothetical asteroid.

The conference organizers propose a hypothetical situation in which Land will converge fictional asteroid PDC. In fact, it is not a fantastic option, and such a threat really exists. However, it can happen in a hundred years.

The conference website States that the asteroid was discovered on March 26. In 2027, under forecasts of scientists, it must pass close to the Earth probability of collision is 1%. The conference participants – astronomers and other specialists will have to figure out what to do to reduce the probability of collision to zero.

The organizers believe that such events are necessary in order to learn faster to mobilize in the event of a real threat.
