NASA accused of concealing vital information

The space Agency 25 Sep forbidden to publish any information on the study of astronauts vision.

The blog Retraction Watch on the analysis of the cases of opinion articles from magazines, made the concealment of the National Directorate of the USA on Aeronautics and space research (NASA) information about the deadly danger of space flight.

According to the report, the U.S. space Agency, on 25 September banned scientists led by Noam Alperin from the University of Miami to publish any information on the study of astronauts vision. Prior to this, NASA has withdrawn the publication of their article “the Role of cerebrospinal fluid in vision disorders induced by space flight, the astronauts” in the journal Radiology.

This material was the abstract and were allowed to print. Highlighted in the study was funded by NASA. The paper reported that the long-term stay in space leads to disturbance of vision.

The views of NASA and authors on the withdrawal of publication differ. The space Agency claims that scientists have uncovered confidential information concerning who participated in the study of astronauts. The authors note that took into account the comments of the Agency and fixed the defect, but the material is still not allowed.

Currently, the publication on the journal’s website available for viewing. “This article removed because of security concerns raised by NASA, the sponsoring Agency”, — is reported on the page.

Retraction Watch indicates that on the study scientists managed to write including such authoritative Western publication, Space.com The Conversation and CNN News.
