Named the starting date of the construction of Kakhovska hydroelectric power station-2

Construction is expected to start in late 2019.

PJSC “Ukrhydroenergo plans to begin construction of Kakhovska HPP-2 at the end of 2019. About this today during the conference, said the head of the company “Ukrhydroenergo” Igor Sirota.

“Now we sign the agreement with “Ukrhydroproekt” the design of this station. We expect that over the next year the design will be performed, and at the beginning of 2019 – we pass the state examination and approval of the Cabinet. I think at the end of 2019 we will be able to begin construction”, – he said.

Sirota noted that the capacity of Kakhovska hydroelectric power station will amount to 250-270 MW, the cost of construction is approximately 420 million euros. “To Finance the project is ready, the EBRD and the European investment Bank”, – said the head of “Ukrhydroenergo”.

Recall, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the program of hydropower development up to 2026. In it, in particular, envisages the construction of several new hydropower facilities.
