Fast food as harmful as cigarettes or alcohol.
Scientists propose to require manufacturers of fast food and other “empty calories” to wrap their products like cigarettes or alcoholic beverages in opaque paper.
Thus many people will be able to avoid the temptation of overeating, with which they are confronted with this type of food.
Fatty and sweet foods must be sold in opaque packaging, and not as attractive in color and design the labels that are used today. In some countries now cigarettes can be sold only in opaque packaging or even close in special cabinets that tobacco products are not caught the eyes of buyers. However, obesity humanity brings no less trouble than alcohol or tobacco. Therefore, chocolate bars or chips should be sold with the same restrictions.
Professor of neurobiology at the University of Cambridge Wolfram Schultz strongly supports the introduction of such a ban. He stated, getting the equivalent of the Nobel prize together with two colleagues for research in the area of the brain. “We must not advertise, promote or encourage optional calories – said Professor Schultz. – They should be regulated exactly the same as cigarettes or alcohol. We don’t need these calories.
