It remains to await the decision of U.S. President Donald trump.
Preparing procedural matters for the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine from the USA made, it’s only for a political decision of the American President Donald trump. In an interview with UKRINFORM told the chief of the General staff – commander-in-chief of the armed forces Victor Majenko.
“This term (concerning the provision of lethal weapons to Ukraine – ed.) is, all lists are coordinated, we discussed all procedural questions, expect only a political solution (in the White house – ed.)”, – said the Ukrainian chief.
He also added that the American military leadership appreciates the current state of the Armed forces of Ukraine.
“The us side also expressed a positive assessment of the processes that took place in the period from 2014 to 2017, in particular, on the strengthening of the operational capabilities of the APU,” – said Muzhenko.
According to him, at the moment there is a question regarding the possible expansion of bilateral cooperation with the US in matters of strategic reform.
“We are talking about introduction of changes in such structures as the General headquarters of the Armed Forces and in the Ministry of defense of Ukraine – with the aim of improving communications and of acquiring the relevant capabilities not only for operational but also at the strategic level”, – said Muzhenko.
