In qualifying, Dovizioso lost only two riders “Yamaha” Vinales the Maverick and Valentino Rossi. Despite not the best start, Andrea quickly slipped into second place, and then in persistent struggle managed to get around Vinales.
Competent piloting Dovizioso maintained their small advantage until the finish line and scored a third victory in his career. This success has allowed Dovizioso to progress to the second position in the standings.

On the home track, Rossi really wanted to please his numerous fans – 7-time world champion was in the lead early in the race, but could not stand the pace of Dovizioso and Vinales.
