The Russian foreign Minister also said that “some European partners” put politics above the interests of their citizens.
Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow is not going to interfere in the internal discussions of the EU on relations with Russia.
According to him, in the EU there are those “who are strongly against any normalization of relations with Russia” and those “who advocates that now is the time to start to get out of this sanctions impasse”.
“I repeat, this subject is not sulky, I do not want to interfere in the internal discussion, but can see how they really are in the European Union are developing,” he said.
Lavrov also said that “politics, politicized, ideologized approaches of some European and Western partners are trying to put above the indigenous economic interests of their countries and citizens.”
However, he noted that the now stronger trend to the abandonment of such “anomalies”.
Recently, at a meeting with Lavrov, the head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini said that sanctions against Russia for the EU is not an end in itself but a means to the end of the conflict in the Donbas, along with Crimea.
Also we will remind that recently the Russian foreign Ministry has refused to implement the decision of the Council of Europe over Crimea, adopted by the Committee of Ministers.
