As stated by the Vatican Secretary of state cardinal Pietro Parolin after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the responsibility for peace in several countries, including Ukraine, lies on Moscow.
Parolin stressed that the issue of peace on the territory of Ukraine gives Vatican a “significant concern”.
“First of all, the Holy see insists on resolving the humanitarian aspects, starting with the important initiatives of the Pope to Ukraine… One of those is the release of prisoners,” said Parolin, and stated that the Kremlin will have to reconsider its policy.
Also, according to Pietro parolin, that is the message he tried to convey to the Russian President during a meeting with the head of the Russian Federation.
