Moscow has refused to arrest the “sanctions turbine” Siemens in the Crimea

The German concern has refused the claim and arrest of the “Crimean turbines”.

The court took into production the claim of the company to structures “Rostec”. Preliminary hearings are scheduled for September 18.

Siemens believe that Russia is illegally smuggled into the Crimea turbines purchased for another project. The suit was brought in the arbitration on July 11.
The company demanded the seizure of four turbines moved to the Crimea, and a ban on actions for the installation of gas turbine units.

Defendants named JSC foreign economic Association Technopromexport, OOO Siemens gas turbine technologies and JSC foreign economic Association Technopromexport.

On 21 July, Siemens announced that it had received credible information about upgrading and moving to the Crimea four turbines, which were delivered in the summer of 2016 for the project in Taman. The company argued that this was in breach of contract. The group had intended to seek the return of the equipment in the Taman and to prevent new supplies to Crimea. In addition, it was reported that Siemens is ready to buy all the equipment and cancel the contract. In Moscow, meanwhile, insist that the set on the Peninsula of the turbine are of Russian production.

On 4 August, the EU extended restrictive measures against Russia because of the scandal with the supply of turbines in the Crimea. In the sanctions list were three individuals “involved in the delivery” of equipment to the Peninsula, and three companies.
