Ministry of Russia organizes the monitoring system of permafrost

Minvostokrazvitiya Russia will assess the economic risks and negative consequences of permafrost degradation. It is now preparing a monitoring system. It will include several levels. Federal is a single center, which will process the information and to make predictions. At the regional and municipal levels – a network of stations that will monitor the changes associated with thawing of permafrost. Another level – the companies-subsoil users. They also need to observe and submit data in a single center. A detailed plan must be prepared before 2021.
