In Chile, about four million people were left without drinking water due to contamination of water in the river that leads to the reservoir near the Chilean capital Santiago.
Contamination occurred due to the floods that swept the country. The authorities promise to restore water supply when the contamination level in the Maipo river will be reduced.
The city’s population buys water in bottles.
Rescue service reported that in some mountain areas due to heavy rainfall there are no roads.
According to the Governor of the province of Santiago, Claudio Ortega, cessation of water touched nearly half a million homes.
In addition, it is noted that the victims of the floods and landslides were four people.
