Mike Flanagan will turn a “haunting” in the series

Netflix never ceases to please with announcements of new projects. Given the fact that these guys are involved in continuous close (with rare exceptions), the audience can safely be rubbing their little hands. This time under the TV format it was decided to adapt classic horror novel “the haunting” authored by Shirley Jackson. Netflix has already ordered ten episodes to develop joined Amblin TV and Paramount TV. But the most interesting is the figure of “steering”. Director, writer and producer of the project assigned to one of the most promising horrormeister of our days — Mike Flanagan. He is responsible for films such as “Oculus”, “Silence”, “Somnia”, and soon we are waiting for his opinion on “the Play of Gerald” by Stephen king (and maybe on “Snapshot, 1988” Joe hill). In General, sensible man, and the project landed in capable hands.

“The haunting” (The Haunting of Hill House) was published in 1959. Roman always gets in the various lists of the best and a must-read for fans of horror literature. This is a classic ghost story, unhurried, with a bias rather in the psychology and inner feelings of the heroine, rather than in the mystical and Gothic nightmares.

And then one day the quiet of the house violates the noisy company of visitors. Dr. Montague, a paranormal investigator, takes on the summer mansion to explore phenomena occurring there. No one who comes can’t even imagine what a nightmare will complete this trip.

The series will present us with a modern take on the story. The novel already filmed twice: in 1963, the film came out Robert wise ‘s “the haunting”, and in 1999 saw the light of version Yana de Bonta with the original name and Liam Nisan with Catherine Zeta-Jones in the lead roles. And if the first film was nominated for a Golden globe, second only to the “Golden raspberry”. Let’s see what happens at Flanagan. Although I bet he’ll be fine.
