Midsummer: what not to do to women and children

Women are forbidden to celebrate Midsummer and to visit in the evening campfire

On the night of 6 to 7 July is celebrated the ancient holiday of the Eastern Slavs Midsummer. It is believed that at this time, waking up every timber evil, so this night can’t sleep.

Besides sleep, there are other prohibitions. In the night from 6 to 7 July from the water should stay away from pregnant women, children and the elderly. Water spirits can harm weak bodies of these people.

The family is not impoverished, its members of Midsummer, it is better not to give, sell, or borrow. And if the person will find on the road money — even a large sum — it in no event it is impossible to take them.

Women are forbidden to celebrate Midsummer and to visit in the evening campfire — they only do witches.
