World anti-doping Agency won an appeal in the case of the Brazilian midfielder “Shakhtar” Fred.
In December 2015, the South American football Confederation (CONMEBOL) disqualified Fred before 27 June 2016 for the delivery of a positive doping test after a match for Brazil in the Copa America.
From a one-year period of Ineligibility Fred actually missed only six months. It did not suit the World anti-doping Agency, which initially insisted on a four-year disqualification for the Brazilian.
According to “FootballHub”, the court of Arbitration for sport accepted the appeal of WADA and extended the period of Ineligibility Fred. The timing of the new penalties is one of the leaders of Shakhtar unknown. Earlier the General Director of “miners” Sergei Palkin claimed that the World anti-doping Agency was required to suspend Fred for two years.
This season, Fred became one of the key players of Shakhtar and significantly increased their chances of going to one of the leading clubs in the top European Championships.
On account of Fred in season 2016-2017 29 matches the Brazilian has scored four goals four times and assisted his team mates.
