Programs have been available in the past.
Despite its age, operating system Windows 7, released in October 2009, continues to enjoy great popularity among users worldwide. Now running this operating system runs more than 40% of all desktop computers and laptops.
Manual Microsoft decided not to ignore this statistics and additionally extended support security updates for Windows 7 for three years. First, such support was supposed to end January 14, 2020, but now users will be able to receive critical updates until January 2023.
Unfortunately, the use of such privileges will have to pay “in specie”. The cost of the service will be calculated on an individual basis, “based on each individual device, and the price will rise every year”.
Fair to say that similar programs have been available in the past, but only for large corporate clients. And Microsoft require their partners to submit quarterly plans for the transition to the current version of the operating system and software, and the cost of contracts for the extension of the period of support amounted to several million dollars. Now, the Corporation apparently decided to offer a similar service to a wider range of users.
