Microsoft, in collaboration with the company Johnson Controls has developed a “smart” thermostat called GLAS.
The main features of the gadget — management system with a translucent touchscreen and full integration with Microsoft services.
As the operating system for GLAS supports Windows 10 IoT Core is a special version of OSes, designed for undemanding devices and the “Internet of things”.
In addition, the gadget supports voice assistant Cortana and is equipped with a variety of sensors. With their help, GLAS determines whether indoors people, and depending on this automatically regulates the temperature of the air.
The thermostat is integrated with the cloud business the Windows Azure platform. The creators have positioned it as a solution for commercial use, the price is not yet disclosed. Whether there is a unit available for sale is unknown.
