The list was reduced to a private browser and Microsoft applications code-based Chrome.
Microsoft confirmed to VentureBeat that cut the list of supported browsers to the Edge and applications based on the Chrome code (for example, they include Vivaldi from the Opera and Yandex.Browser). The publication says that Microsoft has warned about the termination of support for other browsers in February 2019.
The company said the service uses a transmission technology real-time data that can be used in different browsers, so I found it more valuable to focus on the most important for the users of the services.
Also, Microsoft said that Skype for Web will only work in two operating systems – Windows 10 and Mac OS X 10.12 or later. Because of this, Chrome OS users will have to download the Android Skype app that works on all models “chromebooks”.
