Representatives of corporate giants confirmed the report that they joined their voice assistants. It was a new stage in joint work of the companies, negotiations on which began in may 2016. This integration will provide users with new opportunities.
Now Alexa and Cortana will be able to pass voice commands to each other. Also the user will be able to ask for one program to ask for help to another. In addition, Alexa users can change calendar settings, while those using Cortana will have the opportunity to connect with smart devices and order products from Amazon. At first, the interaction between the assistants will be quite cumbersome, since it will be necessary to pronounce a particular phrase, before turning through one program to another.
