Fossils in the mouth of the river was caught by local residents
Residents of fishing villages of the Mexican state of Guerrero have discovered at the mouth of the river the remains of ancient sharks, surfaced from the bottom.

On the finding, they informed the authorities, and they contacted the staff of the National Institute of anthropology and history (INAH). According to scientists, probably the remains belong to Megalodon is the ancestor of the modern great white shark. While this is only a guess. It is not excluded that the found remains of another species of extinct sharks.
Preliminary analysis showed that the age of the discovered creatures ranges from 1.8 to 5 million years. And the Megalodon was thought to have lived in the period from mid-Oligocene to mid – Pliocene- approximately 23-2,6 million years ago. The exact answer will be given after the remains examined in the laboratory.
“The length of this shark was about 18 meters, – said the archaeologist from INAH Antonio Hermosillo. – Sorry, only found back, and no head. It is difficult to determine. I hope to identify the creature we will help paleontologists”.
