This was stated by German Chancellor Angela Merkel at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Saturday, may 20.
“We have to announce that a truce for today did not yet exist and, in addition, the Minsk agreement have not been fully implemented”, she said.
Merkel also listed the topics that will be discussed during the meeting with Poroshenko, it is in particular the humanitarian situation of the Donbas.
“Also (discuss – ed.) my conversation with the French President, Emmanuel Macron, as we work in the future in the framework of the Minsk agreements. (Talk – ed) that the meeting in “Norman” format will continue continue to discuss about a possible meeting in the future heads of the four States,” said Merkel.
Also, she said, we will focus on reforms in Ukraine.
In turn, Poroshenko said that Ukraine sees no alternative to the Minsk agreements. “We see no alternative to the Minsk agreements and urge their full implementation”, – said the President.
According to him, a significant part of today’s conversation with Merkel will be devoted to the Minsk process.
