Merkel has made a new statement on sanctions against Russia

It all depends on the implementation of the Minsk agreements, said the Chancellor of Germany.

Sanctions against Russia will be lifted only when Ukraine will return control of the Donbass. On Tuesday, August 29, Izvestia reports, citing a statement by German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the large annual press conference in Berlin.

According to her, the sanctions will be lifted, if Russia will fulfill the Minsk agreement.

“Sanctions will be lifted when the reason is removed,” – said Merkel.

According to TASS, Merkel said that the lifting of sanctions will have a positive impact both on Russian and on German economy.
