Last night at an exclusive event in Germany, Mercedes showed the interior of the new A-Class, demonstrating the revolutionary design similar to models E-Class and, to a lesser extent, the S-Class. He borrowed from the “senior brothers” instrument panel with two separate high-tech flat-screens, five ventilation holes, made in the form of a turbine, a simplified Central console, a multifunction steering wheel S-Class.
The highlight, of course, are two screens that visually “float” above the dashboard. They will be available in three versions depending on the chosen configuration. The base model will receive two 7-inch display, and model a higher level — one 7 inch and one 10.25 inch or two 10.25-inch. The latter two are made using the technology of bonding glass screen.
The first display replaces the traditional instrument panel, and another is used for information display and as a touch control different functions — from air conditioning to the infotainment system. These same functions are duplicated on the steering wheel and the touchpad mounted on the center console.
This interior will be used for all derived models A-class.
The essence of the novelties of the next iteration of the Mercedes A-Class is to provide customers with the equipment and functions more luxurious models of the brand, but in a smaller and more convenient for the city car. In this regard, the Germans argue that a heightened level of luxury offers the options inherent in the higher segments. For example, the seats have heating, cooling and massage function, and the interior uses 64 LEDs, allowing you to create a personal atmosphere interior light.
In addition, the Mercedes-Benz say the new A-Class will be larger not only for passengers but also for Luggage. In particular, the increased width in the area of shoulders (9 mm front and 22 mm rear), elbow (35 mm, 36 mm) and height — for the front passengers 7 mm, rear 8 mm. the Trunk has received an additional 29 litres and now the total volume is 370 liters.
In addition, the stories of representatives of the automaker has improved, as front, middle and rear pillars with their veneer of “thinner” by 10 percent. Improved visibility also provides the new positioning of the exterior side mirrors.
The official debut of the hatchback A-Class is scheduled for the Geneva motor show in March next year, and European sales will begin in the summer. Behind him in the next year will follow a more conservative sedan with standard and long wheel bases (for China). And in 2019-th we will see the replacement of the crossover GLA.
