The nearest premiere Mercedes-Benz will be the third generation sedan CLS. As reported by Motor1 with reference to the representatives of the German brand’s public debut of the novelty will take place in late November at the motor show in Los Angeles. At the motor show will show a hybrid modification of the machine.
In the structure of the power plant will include a petrol engine with six cylinders and an electric motor. The novelty will be built on the basis of the E-Class. The company stressed that the Shooting Brake version of the next-generation CLS not it is planned.
Four-door sedan based on a coupe AMG GT, in turn, will be unveiled at the motor show in Detroit in January 2018. Serial production of cars will begin in the middle of next year. The design of the machine will repeat the prototype presented in Geneva in March this year.
The car will be built on the MRA platform. This same chassis currently used C63, E63 and the S63 AMG. For weight loss parts of the sedan are made of aluminium and high strength steel.
Technical characteristics of the model are still kept secret. According to unofficial data, the sedan will get a 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine. The power of the motor will make around 600 horsepower. Also do not rule out the emergence of hybrid modification sedan.
The prototype of the novelty was equipped with a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 4.0-liter liter gasoline V8 engine and electric motor. The total capacity of the car exceeds 800 horsepower. To 100 km/h, the prototype can accelerate in 3 seconds. Also the concept has received an automatic transmission Speedshift MCT and retuned suspension.
