Mental arithmetic: the Ukrainians have set a world record

In the adult category of the national record books got kids.

In the capital, children from all over Ukraine staged a group session on mental arithmetic. The so-called skill is considered in the accounts.

For the record, came to the capital children aged 5 to 14 years. Gifted children have demonstrated the ability to count is commensurate in speed with the calculator. Little participants of the event believe that a useful skill will be useful in adult life.

Teachers say not so much about mathematics as the overall development of the child. They say that mental arithmetic forms a skill to learn, remember and use information. “The development of creative thinking, it’s the training of the two hemispheres, through which the child develops, he becomes more creative, more confident, better at school learning”, says the teacher of mental arithmetic Tatyana Shutko.
