Melissa McCarthy and a fun assassination.

Part of comedic actress Melissa McCarthy in any movie can be called “gay murder” in the sense that while watching you can die laughing (if you’re a fan of Melissa’s talents)… well, either her involvement kills any humor (if you don’t like it much). Whatever it was, and McCarthy, which you’ve seen in movies such as “Cops in skirts” and “Ghostbusters”, became interested in the project-protracted “Merry murders” (The Happytime Murders).

And when I say “unfinished”, I mean a really long period of time. A Comedy Thriller by Brian Henson has been in development since 2012 (!) year. At one time they were interested in the company Lionsgate, and the main role was then offered to Cameron Diaz, then as the singer of one of the roles was seen Katherine Heigl. The last thing we heard about this film, was news of 2015 that the project came under the wing of the company STX Entertainment, and that finished the script rewrite.

The film will unfold in a world where side by side people live and… dolls, and dolls are citizens of “second class”. When puppet-actors, the kids show of the 80-ies under the name “Merry gang” starts to kill one after another, private investigator, puppet-alcoholic, begins to investigate.

McCarthy not only will play in the film, but will also act as the producer. Word the actress:

Anyway, thanks Melissa for the project now, it seems, got back on track and fast pace moving forward. Shooting is expected to begin in August 2017.
