Meizu and MediaTek will develop similar to Apple’s Face ID

The company Meizu and MediaTek announced to join forces to develop advanced technology for the identification of mobile device users.

We are talking about a system similar to Apple’s Face ID. Recall that the Face ID lets you unlock the phone, authenticate and pay for your purchase using the password model. Face ID works with the camera TrueDepth: on the user’s face are projected more than 30,000 invisible infrared dots and then based on the obtained data it creates a precise structural map.

Meizu and MediaTek has not disclosed details about the future, but States that planned to develop “the best technology of facial recognition for smartphones”. It is expected that the system will be presented next year.

Observers believe that technologies like Apple Face ID in the near future will be to gain popularity. This method is an alternative to fingerprint scanning, iris or retina of the eye.
