Meet the “New mutants” – the characters of horror from the X-Men universe

Juliana Rasputin (Magik)

Magic has the ability to teleport anywhere in space and even to other dimensions. She is originally from Russia and has a younger sister and another member of the X-Men, Colossus. In the trailer, Juliana and Sam Guthrie meet a mysterious masked man, who clearly is a threat to them.

Rhine Sinclair (Wolf)

Played by: Maisie Williams

The Rhine from early childhood, was an orphan and spent his early years with the guardian, a priest who was horrible to a girl. When he found out that the Rhine – mutant, and is able to partially or completely turn into a wolf, then tried using aggressive parishioners to burn it, but Sinclair miraculously managed to escape. However, religious upbringing made the girl believe in “satanic” origin of her abilities. In one of the scenes shown in the trailer, Rhine screaming in pain – perhaps in the process of transformation into a Wolf.

Sam Guthrie (Cannonball)

Played by: Charlie Heaton

Sam was born in the mining town and from a young age helped the adult in the hard work at the mine. His powers awakened during a severe crash, in which Sam saved a few friends, but not all. The mutation lies in the possibility of generating thermo-chemical energy – in fact, Guthrie turns into a “living missile” and the ability to fly at great speed. Most likely, the trailer shows a vision of Sam, in which he once again remembers the victims of the tragic collapse. That’s why he says that the place where they keep the New mutants – not a “house of horrors”.

Danielle Munstar (Mirage)

The role: blue hunt

Mirage can create illusions based on the deepest fears of people, or to their innermost desires. It all depends on her emotional state, which is far from stable. In addition, she can maintain telepathic communication with animals – so she’ll probably be able to control the Wolf. In the trailer Danielle carefully examines and interrogates Dr. Cecilia Reyes, which is associated with terrible visions plaguing the girl.

Bobby da Costa (Sanspot)

Played by: Henry Zaga

The latter is represented in the film, a mutant – Sanspot, who get their supernatural power from solar energy. Bobby is impulsive and narcissistic, but it is quite good to get along with other mutants. In one of the flashed in the trailer frame Sanspot activates his power, and Sam Guthrie witnesses.
