Ukraine and Russia agreed on the return of the ships detained in the Kerch Strait on 25 November 2018, reports “Kommersant”.
It is noted that three Ukrainian ships — boats “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol” and the tug “Yana Kapu” — should be transferred to Kiev until 9 December, when the summit in “channel format”.
Currently, law enforcement agencies and foreign Ministries of the two countries to negotiate the details, including the date and exact place of the transfer of ships.
There is already an agreement that the transfer will take place in the sea, three Russian tug transferred to a court agreed upon by the parties point together with standard weapons, but no ammunition.
At the same time Russia will remain the personal weapons of Ukrainian seafarers, as well as the radio and ship documents. They are all attached to the criminal case on “violation of the state border”.
We will remind, on November 25 last year, three ships of the Ukrainian Navy came into the Kerch Strait, violating the Russian border. They were detained by Russian border guards detained the sailors. On September 7 of this year was transferred to Ukraine in the framework of agreements on the simultaneous release of detainees and convicted persons.
