MAYOR: the Natural population decline Russia will continue until 2023

Natural population growth in Russia will begin in 2024. It is reported TASS with reference to the forecast of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation for the years 2020-2022, prepared by the MAYOR.

“In 2023, the natural decrease will persist, and in 2024 will mark the natural increase of the population”, — stated in the document.

Thus the average annual population of the Russian Federation will increase from 146,8 million in 2018 to 147,7 million people in 2022, and 2024 can reach 148.7 million.

In 2020-2023 years the population will grow only at the expense of workers. Net migration in 2019 will amount to 295,3 thousand people, in 2020 — 440,7 thousand persons, and in 2024 — 500,4 thousand persons.

Rosstat earlier reported that the gap between mortality and birth rate in Russia continues to grow. For the first half of 2019, died 27.6% more Russians than were born. Last year, the figure for the same period was 21%.

From January to June 2019 were born in Russia 719,65 thousand children. It is 63.1 thousand or 8.1% less than in the first half of 2018. During the same period died 918,5 thousand people, which is 3% less than last year.
