At the blast site in Poland found the bodies of two dead.
As a result of explosion at factory on manufacture of gunpowder for the bullets in Monkole lower Silesian Voivodeship, killing two people,at least 15 were injured.
According to local rescuers, the incident happened about 11 a.m. (Kyiv local time) when the blast struck one of the production units.
“At the scene continues the search and rescue operation,” – said the representative of fire service of lower Silesia Alexander kucharczyk. The factory is more than 40 rescuers, including specialists with trained dogs to search for people.
According to the latest information, rescue operation could last more than a day. Firefighters have stopped the rescue operation to coordinate with the police for further action.
“For us, the rescuers, this substance is atypical. We need to evaluate our technique, we can comb through the rubble,” – said Deputy chief of fire service of lower Silesia Piotr Gib.
According to him, the rescuers all the time putting water on the powder, mixed with the earth.
Near the destroyed plant is a warehouse with gunpowder, but the fire service is securely protected from possible fire.
Factory in Monkole is one of the oldest for the production of black powder in the world. The production of gunpowder lasts from the XVII century.
