Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during the negotiations settled disputes in the oil and gas sector.
“We (are disputed issues of oil and gas supplies – ed.) is settled. Agreed on how and in what terms we will do so,” Putin said following the talks.
Between Russia and Belarus for a long time continued gas dispute. Moscow demanded that Minsk pay off the debt for the gas supplied, which at year end was $425 million Belarus called the Russian price for gas is unreasonable and refused to comply with the requirements of the Russian side.
In the end, the Russian Federation announced the reduction in oil supplies to Belarus, while Minsk has said it is to increase tariffs on the transportation of Russian oil and announced the beginning of deliveries of the Iranian raw materials for its refineries.
