Lockdown zealots want a return of Covid curbs to ‘protect the NHS’… from the consequences of the previous lockdowns

It’s that time of the year, folks. When we’re told we simply must impose or re-impose restrictions – including mandatory masks, social distancing, vaccine passports and bans on indoor gatherings – to ‘protect the NHS.’

‘The Health Service won’t be able to cope.’ ‘We’re in a perilous situation.’ ‘We’re on the edge.’ ‘We need action from the government NOW.’ These have been the hysterical cries this week from those who said very much the same in March 2020. And December 2020. And who didn’t want restrictions lifted at all – even in the height of summer.

Never mind that, despite the emotional appeals of ‘something must be done!’, there is still no evidence that masks, lockdowns or vaccine passports actually work.

Sweden, which never mandated masks, implemented a lockdown or introduced vaccine passports, has had much better Covid outcomes than countries which did those things. But Sweden is the elephant in the room, the country that for Covid cultists simply doesn’t exist. Just like Florida, which is restriction free and currently has the third lowest positivity rate of any US state.

The virtue-signalling lockdown luvvies – most of whom are in safe, high-salaried, elite media or public-sector jobs and whose income won’t be adversely affected in the slightest by the return of draconian restrictions on individuals and businesses – tell us that the government needs to act swiftly because of the rise in Covid ‘cases.’ But what they don’t tell us is that the UK is testing almost one million people a day – more than any other country –  yet is still only seventh on Europe’s seven-day, per-100,000-population case-rate table. The UK has better figures than Lithuania, which introduced mandatory vaccine passports on 13 September.

Given the time of year, when colds and flu-like illnesses always increase, and the problem of mass testing giving out false positives, cases – so defined – were always going to go up in mid-October.

Yet, perfectly normal seasonal patterns (who doesn’t get the sniffles at this time of the year?) are presented as if we’re heading towards Armageddon.

To add insult to injury, we’re told we need to take ‘tough’ measures on Covid to enable the NHS to clear its enormous backlog. The Zero Covid, FBPE cultists were all retweeting the dire warnings of the head of the NHS Confederation, Matthew Taylor – a former Head of Policy Unit at 10 Downing Street under Tony Blair – that ministers had to urgently announce we were moving to ‘Plan B Plus’ to prevent the NHS ‘stumbling into crisis.’

Taylor said the NHS was facing “rocketing demand for hospital care as well as mental health services, ambulance services and primary care.”

The NHS does indeed have a record backlog of nearly six million people awaiting treatment, but that was largely caused by the 2020/21 lockdowns and the concomitant cancellation of ‘non-emergency’ operations and other hospital appointments.

So the answer to this is… a return to Covid restrictions! You really couldn’t make it up, could you? Insanity has been defined as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, and what we’re seeing at the moment – with the calls to repeat what we did in 2020 and again last winter – is off-the-scale insanity. But, of course, we know there’s method in the madness. The last 18 months have all been about implementing Davos Man’s digital-ID-dependent ‘Great Reset’ under the guise of fighting a virus. This is the only explanation that makes sense of what’s been going on – and the apparent ‘madness’ of governments. The conspiracy theory of 2020 was in fact the spoiler alert for 2021.

On Wednesday in Parliament, the Coronavirus Act was extended again without a vote but with lots of laughter. The government has given itself the right to impose freedom-destroying restrictions at very short notice. The only thing that will stop the implementation of ‘Plan B’ (or worse), is mass non-compliance. As I’ve said many times before, this only ends when a critical mass of individuals and businesses say: “That’s enough of this now. We will not comply with any more restrictions. You said the vaccines were our route to freedom. We’re done.”

The stakes could not be higher. For if we do tamely accept the return of mandatory masks, social distancing, the introduction of vaccine passports and other restrictions on free association and free assembly this winter to ‘protect the NHS,’ then such measures will be the norm every winter for the rest of our lives.

Is that what we really want?
