LG is preparing to release a new foldable smartphone

LG is developing its own folding smartphone with a flexible display. This is evidenced by a patent application describing this development.

The LG patent describes quite ordinary in appearance, the smartphone, but it can be folded in half and thus half dimensions. In addition to more compact foldable design will reduce the risk of damaging the screen during transport.

The special hinge mechanism allows you to fold the display at certain angles. On the edges of the screen there are two magnets to let the phone didn’t open. When opening the screen automatically turns on, and when folded — off. Also, the smartphone includes two antenna, two speakers and two microphones, located under the display on the top and bottom. One of the cameras will be placed at the rear, to take pictures in the folded state.

It is unclear exactly when LG will release a smartphone. In 2019 foldable smartphones are expected from leading manufacturers such as Samsung, Huawei, Motorola is also being developed in this direction.
