The Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov on Sunday night presented his book “Lenin with us?” in Kharkov, and soon intends to present it in Washington.
“I’m in a couple of weeks will present the book in Washington,” – said A. Avakov during the autograph session, signing copies of the book in the English language the ex-mayor of new York, adviser to the President of the United States Donald trump on cybersecurity Rudolph Giuliani.
R. Giuliani, asked how the Minister had the idea to write this book.
“We are in a transitional stage from totalitarianism to another country. Before 200 meters away stood Lenin (the Lenin monument on Svobody square – if). Now it’s gone. But the question remains in the minds”, explained Avakov.
“This is very true. You need to young people knew it. Because the youth thinks so as it is now, always has been. But they need to understand the history to understand what to do next. I will definitely read the book and then tell you my opinion”, – said R. Giuliani.
In comments to reporters Avakov also said that currently preparing another book.
“The next book called the “Green notebook” and I am presenting it first in Kharkiv”, – said A. Avakov. “This book is about something else, it’s about philosophy,” he told Interfax-Ukraine.
During the presentation of the book “Lenin with us?” was held a charity event to raise funds for the Kharkiv regional gymnasium-boarding school for the blind. The book could be bought “for any amount”. According to organizers, has sold 1 168 instances for a total amount of 105 thousand UAH.
As reported, in 2017 in the Kharkiv publishing house “Folio”, a book of A. Avakov “Lenin with us?”. On the website of the publisher States that the book on 160 pages accommodates the paper by A. Avakov 2007 (it was published together with comments in 2008 with a circulation of 5 thousand copies as a 100-page book), the data of the Ukrainian Institute of national memory on the dismantling of monuments to Vladimir Lenin and a list of unauthorized fallen monuments to the leader.
“Ten years later and three thousand demolished in Ukraine Lenin monuments I re-publish this article, this time adding in the title the question mark: Lenin with us?” noted in the Preface, the author. The book is published in three languages with a total circulation of 14 million copies.
The first presentation of the book by A. Avakov “Lenin with us?” was held in Kyiv on 7 November.
