Latvia will build fortifications on the border with Russia
On Tuesday, December 13, the Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia handed over to the Ministry of defence in possession of a plot of land in Aluksne region, where it plans to build fortifications to protect the Eastern borders of Latvia.
It is noted that the square footage Padejski parish, which planned to build fortifications, is 1.68 hectares. What the government is going to build there, the Ministry does not comment.
It is reported that Medijska parish is bordered by Russia. Also in Aluksne region is situated the infantry school of the National armed forces and a training base Lāčusils (“Bear forest”).
