Childhood & early life

Lana Pozhidaeva is a Russian professional model living in New York. She was born in Moscow. Her parents are entrepreneurs who started a business during hard times came, after the Soviet Union’s collapse. At the insistence of the parents, she graduated from high school two years ahead. Having successfully passed entrance exams, she was enrolled at Moscow State Institute of Foreign Relations (MGIMO), one of the most prestigious universities of Russia. In 2004, She received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, graduating with high honors. Then, she immediately continued her education at ICN Graduate Business School in France where she received her Master degree in International Management. She speaks several languages including English, Russian, French, Italian and some Spanish.

Career & major work

Lana indulged in modeling for the first time when she was 15 years old and got into the final of the model contest “Face of the year” held by the Russian youth magazine “Yes” but after that she decided to focus on her studies. After her Bachelor’s degree in Moscow, she moved to France to continue her studying. Based between Paris in Milan, she started to appear in different fashion magazines and signed several modeling contracts working for renowned brands like Fendi, Pucci, Diesel. Then, Lana went on taking over the fashion world in New York. Here, she has appeared in well-known magazines including Vogue, Glamour, Maxim, JOY, Cosmopolitan, FHM, and L’Officiel. Currently, Lana is the face of the international skincare brand Skinceuticals and Fekkai Hair Products.

In 2018, Lana Pozhidaeva started her own venture called WE Talks (Women Empowerment) to support aspiring businesswomen. WE Talks started as a monthly event series for female entrepreneurs and professionals in the New York City area. “WE” stands for Women’s Empowerment, Encouragement, and Entrepreneurship. In less than a year, WE Talks has grown tremendously, doubling attendees at each talk to now over 300 in attendance at the most recent event, with over a few thousand women signed up on the mailing list.

Less than a year after launching WE Talks, Lana got nominated by Global Connections for Women foundation as Entrepreneur of the Year and received her award at The Harvard Club of New York. Lana is currently working on building a tech enabled platform for millennial professional women.

Lana is also a renowned philanthropist and supports a number of charities and foundations focused on education projects in the U.S., Europe, and Africa. Additionally, she is a member of the Young Executive Board of Global Connections for Women Foundation in New York. She advocates the idea that all women have the right to realize their potential in all areas of business.
