Kyiv will raise a loan of €110 million for the purchase of streetcars and subway cars

The loan will allow you to buy 50 subway cars and 40 tram cars.

The Kyiv city Council allowed the municipal predpriyaty “Kiev metro” and “Kyivpastrans” under its guarantee to bring €50 million, respectively, €60 million loan from the European Bank for reconstruction and development for the purchase of tram and metro cars. This decision was taken at a meeting on April 11.

The same decision, the city Council authorized the mayor of Kyiv, head of Kyiv city state administration Vitali Klitschko to sign the agreement on preparation of credit financing.

According to the explanatory Memorandum, the implementation of the credit will allow to buy 50 subway cars and 40 tram cars with a length of 30 to 34 meters, adapted to serve people with special needs.

It was also noted that the deterioration of the tram “Kievpasstransa” is 89%.

We will remind, “Kyivpastrans” agreed with the Polish company PESA on purchase 10 trams for 568,443 million. The document provides for the delivery of 10 new low-floor trams 2019 release. It was reported that the length of one car – more than 26 m with the presence of at least 60 seated passengers.

Also “Kyivpastrans” signed with the Lviv “Electrontrans” contract for 10 low-floor trams with a length of 30.2 meters. The amount of the contract amounted to almost 498 million.
