Tokens will disappear from the market in the Moscow metro before the end of 2019.
It is noted that instead of plastic coins that entered into circulation in the 90-ies of the last century, will come to modern methods of fare collection: the contactless electronic plastic card with a renewal or for a certain amount of travel, cardboard electronic card for a fixed term, Bank cards MasterCard or Visa, smartphones with NFC support and a single ticket with a QR code.
Cards can be purchased and topped up at ticket offices or terminal stations. For paper ticket will install special machines.
According to metro, nearly 75% of passengers don’t use tokens.
