Krivovichev deciphered the crystal structure of more than 120 minerals that led to the discovery of more than 80 mineral deposits of Russia.

Sergey Krivovichev has also, since 1995, has served in the Church of St. Panteleimon in St. Petersburg. In 2006 he was ordained as a deacon of the Russian Orthodox Church.
