Documentary “School №3” about the life of teenagers in a combat zone in the Donbas received the Grand Prix of the international film competition of the Berlinale in the competition program category 14+.
In the section Generation 14+ attended movies about teenagers or young people.
Directors “School No. 3” were the German Georg genoux and Ukrainian Elizabeth Smith. Their heroes – the 13 pupils of school № 3 of the city of mykolaivka in Donetsk region. In the summer of 2014 to school was hit by a shell and turned it into ruins.
The basis of the tape – play “Nikolaevka” “Theater persons”. On this performance Georg genoux worked together with the Ukrainian playwright Natalia Vorozhbit.
The heroes of the film shared his impressions after the news of the victory.
“During these two years I became stronger, it can be seen now in my attitude to the war, I think, in this respect, I am emotional already stand. I’ve also become more open and more because when you tell your personal story to the audience, it allows you to be more open. I heard that Ukraine took the prize in this film festival and I hope that this victory will attract the attention of people abroad the problem of Ukraine”, – said one of the heroines of the movie Alina.
In particular, according to the characters of the film, winning this contest for them was unexpected and some of them want to try themselves as actors.
